Is this course approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety?

Absolutely! And it's vital that you enroll in a State approved Texas driver education course! This course is designed specifically for Texas and is approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

How do I actually take the course?

The entire course is available online, alternatively you can receive the course on CD. The online course / CDs contain the very best training available with the latest driving techniques and instruction. This training allows you to do your training with your parents as you work through a safe and effective course. This course can be done in your own time, at your own pace unlike traditional classroom training.

How will I complete my behind-the-wheel driver training?

After your 15th birthday and successfully receiving your learner's permit you enroll in our course (or earlier as mentioned above if you so choose for the non-driving portion). After enrolling you will be provided with all the information you will need to complete your course. Once you have the information you may continue the course at your own pace in your own time. Our course guides both the parent and student with printouts for successful completion of the required behind-the-wheel training.

Your parent or guardian will conduct and log your in-car driving and certify the completion of each objective. Upon completion of the course, we will provide you a State Certificate of Completion. When you turn 16 and have had your learner's permit for one year and one day, you will take this Certificate along with the other parent certified material to your local Texas licensing center where, after successfully completing your driving test you are now extremely prepared for after following our comprehensive course, you will receive your drivers license. When should I take my online Texas driver education course from TXOnlineDriversEd.com?

In Texas as in most states, you can obtain your learner's permit at age 15. You must be 16 years of age to receive your drivers license (with an approved Driver Education Course like this one - otherwise the earliest you can receive your license is 17) and you also must have held your learner's permit for one year and one day. While technically the online portion can be taken at any age it is usually taken shortly after your 15th birthday. You will not be eligible to complete the driving portion without a learner's permit which cannot be obtained until the age of 15 and completion of a written test. By taking the driver's education course and obtaining the learner's permit as early as possible after your 15th birthday, you will allow the maximum time possible to drive with a parent/guardian before your 16th birthday. This will provide the most practiced solo driver when that time arrives.

I have two children, can both use the same course?

They can both complete the same course but you must register each student individually so that each child will receive their own certificate. The Texas DDS will retain a copy of the certificate as proof-of-completion of a State approved driver education course. Your insurance company may provide a substantial driver discount with the successful completion of the State Approved course.

Will I need to take another course at my local driver education school or high school in order to receive my license?

No. This course covers all the training you need with all the required materials and complete instructions. You simply order our course and follow the instructions provided. It is that easy. It is cheaper than traditional courses and you can complete the course on your own time and at your own pace.

TXOnlineDriversEd.com is my site and I live in Loganville, GA. I was doing research on online driver's education after my daughter had mentioned her friends having done it this way. I went to the Texas Department of Public Safety website and found what I believe to be the only customized course for Texas using computer-based-learning techniques and called them to find out more. Turns out they were new to Texas and after speaking with Kevin, the founder, he asked if I would like to help them in Texas by becoming their affiliate. I not only have this website which connects to Virtual Drive, but I represent Virtual Drive to schools, county governments, etc.

Are there any refunds for your course?

You may request a refunds for courses that are not already started and you will be refunded the full fee less $10 for credit card fees.
