Founder and owner, Jay Johnson, has been a successful entrepreneur for most of his life after starting his career in the telecommunications field with AT&T, Sprint, etc.

He found Virtual Drive when he was researching affordable, but high-quality, driver's education for his daughter. The fact that Kevin and Eliza came from the corporate world designing computer-based-learning techniques for large clients and had utilized those same techniques in this virtual classroom for driver's education was, along with the great pricing for the highest quality course, what made Virtual Drive the obvious choice for his family. During his conversations doing research, the decision was made for Jay to assist Virtual Drive in its marketing efforts in Texas.

With over 25 years of multimedia computer based training experience developing courses for the military, government agencies, major airline corporations, and an industry leading pharmaceutical company, they have utilized their skills and experience to create the finest driver education training course available.

Kevin and Eliza are also parents of four teen-agers themselves and have personally been through this difficult process. They found the state course outline overwhelming and other private parent taught courses difficult and cumbersome. They decided to take their skills and design and develop a course that was not only easy and effective for the student, but one that would break down the daunting process so parents could easily understand and perform the training required by the State of Texas. To date, thousands of teen-agers have now been trained in the proper techniques of safe driving with the help of Virtual Drive .
